Representative from Osceola county, was born at Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, March 26, 1869. He moved with his parents to O'Brien county, Iowa, where they settled on a homestead May 10, 1872. March 1, 1902, moved to a farm adjoining Melvin, Iowa, where he still resides. Was educated in the common schools and has been engaged in farming and stock raising and live stock dealing and shipping. Has served as school director since the age of twenty-three and acted as president of the school board of Melvin, Iowa for the last ten years. Was united in marriage with Miss Minnie Huster on March 8, 1899, to which union three sons and one daughter was born, George Robert, born December 11, 1899; Ralph Rudolph, July 18, 1901; Louisa Anna, August 28, 1905, and Fred Charles, April 14, 1908. A republican in politics.
