Representative from Guthrie county, was born on a farm in Guthrie county, June 5, 1884. Received early education in the rural schools, and at Guthrie county high school, graduating in 1904. Farmed for some time and was a teacher in the rural and graded schools in Guthrie county. Attended Cornell college and the state university of Iowa. Was admitted to the bar and practiced law in California. Was elected county auditor of Guthrie county in 1914. Re-elected in 1916 and 1918. Served as a draft official during the World War. Member of the Methodist Episcopal church, and Royal Arch Masons, Odd Fellows, and the State Historical Society. Married Dora Corsaut Edmand of Bagley. Elected representative in 1920. Republican in politics.
