Representative from Louisa county, was born in that county, near Columbus City, September 30, 1855. Attended collegiate department, S.U.I., graduated in law department in 1877. Practiced law at Columbus Junction until 1891, and at Fort Worth, Texas, from 1891 to 1899, and has practiced in Wapello since. Was a member of the commission appointed by Gov. Cummins to revise the school laws, and later a member of the "Better Iowa Schools" committee. Elected representative in 1918 and 1920. Republican in politics.
