Was born on his father's farm near Blue Grass, in Scott county, Iowa December 28, 1874. Parentage, Scotch-Irish descent. His education was received in the public schools and Parsons College of Fairfield. In 1900 married Myrtle A. Bowser of Muscatine, Iowa. To them have been born three children, all boys. After several years service as General secretary of Y.M.C.A., returned to the farm where he has been actively engaged to the present time. A director and one of the organizers of the Mississippi Valley Fair association. In religion, a Presbyterian. Elected representative in 1918. Reelected in 1920. A republican in politics.

Representative from Scott county, was born on a farm in Scott county, Iowa, December 28, 1874, of Scotch Irish parentage. Was educated in the public schools, and attended Parsons college of Fairfield, Iowa. Returned to the farm, and became active in farm institute and grange organizations. After special training entered Y.M.C.A. work as general secretary and remained in this work until 1901. Returned to the farm and married Myrtle A. Bowser of Muscatine, Iowa. To them have been born three children, all boys. In religion, a Presbyterian. Elected representative in 1918. Republican in politics.
