Representative from Harrison county, was born in Bushnell, Ill., January 28, 1867. His parents moved to Logan, Iowa, in May, 1870. He has been a resident of Harrison county for forty-eight years. His education was acquired in the graded schools of Logan. Was married to Miss Armetta D. Kirk, in 1889. The family consists of two daughters and two boys. He moved to Woodbine in 1897, was engaged in the live stock and real estate business, until 1907. He was appointed postmaster at Woodbine, and served for nine years. Was a member of the city council, also school treasurer. Is now engaged in the automobile business, also has farming interests in Harrison and Monona counties. Was elected representative in 1918 and 1920. Presbyterian in religion. Republican in politics.
