Representative from Benton county, was born in Benton county, Iowa, August 29, 1857, of Scotch-Irish parentage. Was born on and now owns the farm his father, A. H. Hanna entered from the government, and now jointly with his son operates the same, which is known as Grandview Farm. He was educated in rural schools and Cornell college. In December of 1881 he married M. Rosella Ward, and they have two daughters and a son. He was one of the organizers and is president of the Farmers' Savings Bank of Garrison, Iowa, and is also connected with other business enterprises there. He moved from the farm to Vinton, Iowa, in 1914. Always interested in public affairs, has been president of the Benton county Farm Bureau since its organization in 1917. He was, by the governor, appointed member of the local draft board for Benton county, and served as its secretary. He is a member of the Presbyterian church. Elected representative in 1918 and re-elected in 1920. A republican in politics.
