Representative from Taylor county, was born in Union county, Iowa, September 27, 1873. He was educated in the rural schools, at Afton Normal college, and spent three and one-half years in Highland Park college. He spent seven years as teacher and superintendent in the public schools of Union and Adams counties, and for the past eleven years has been editor and publisher of the Gravity Independent. He was married to Mary E. Coan of Creston, Iowa, August 1, 1906. He was president and member of the school board of Gravity ten years, and clerk of Washington township four years. He is a Royal Arch Mason, Modern Woodman and Yeoman. Elected representative in 1918 and 1920. A republican in politics.
