Representative from Wayne county, was born November 2, 1866, in Grand River township, Wayne county, Iowa. Attended rural school, Humeston college one year and graduated from the law department of Drake University in 1889. Taught three terms of school in rural districts. Engaged most of life in farm work and farm management. Married to Eleanor Bemis of Polk county, Iowa, February 23, 1918. Elected representative to Thirty-ninth General Assembly on fifty-fourth birthday, it being President Harding's fifty-fifth birthday. Republican in politics.
