Representative from the Forty-second district, was born in Muscatine county, Iowa, June 20, 1860. His parents came from New Jersey in 1850, taking up land in Muscatine county. Received his education in the rural schools and attended the Wilton academy one year. Since that time he has been actively engaged in farming. Served as township assessor for six years and on the board of trustees for four years. Member of the Farm Bureau. Member of Iowa lodge No. 2 A.F. & A.M. Member of the Modern Woodmen of America. Member of the M.E. church. Elected representative in 1918. Re-elected in 1920. A republican in politics.
