Representative from Allamakee county, was born on a farm near Waukon, Iowa, on the 13th day of November, 1866. Moved to Waukon with his parents in 1877. Graduated from the Waukon High school in 1884. Has been engaged in the mercantile business since that time. Married Miss Anna B. Hall of Waukon. Was mayor of Waukon two terms. Was organizing member of Council of Defense for Allamakee county. County chairman of "Four Minute Men," chairman first Red Cross war drive and assistant county food administrator. His politics have been republican beginning with his first vote.
