Representative from Greene county, was born April 24, 1895, on a farm near Galva, Ill. Came to Iowa in the spring of 1896 with his parents, who located on a farm near Scranton. He received his early education in the rural schools and the high school at Scranton, and later attended Iowa state college at Ames, where he took the course in animal husbandry, and was graduated in 1919. He is a member of the M.E. church, Masonic lodge, and American Legion. He is a veteran of the world war, having entered the service in September, 1917. In August, 1918, he was commissioned second lieutenant of infantry. He was discharged from the service on December 12, 1918. Upon his return from the army, he completed his course at Ames, and then resumed his farming operations. He was married to Miss Charlotte Aughey of Woodbine, Iowa, on November 25, 1919. He was elected representative in 1922. In politics he is a republican.
