Representative from Boone county, was born on a farm in that county, in 1809. Has lived in Boone county all his life. Received his education in the rural schools, the Boone high school and the business department of Highland Park college at Des Moines. Was married to Etta Brown of Boone, February 11, 1894, and to them have been born four children- Clara, Lulu, LeRoy and Grace. From 1894 to 1904 he farmed in summer and taught school in the winter. Since that time he has been actively engaged in farming and stock raising. Has held several minor offices. He is president of the Farmers' Co-operative Elevator company, of Luther. Was president of the school board of the Luther consolidated school for six years and later secretary. Is a member of the Methodist Episcopal church. A member of the A.O.U.W., and the I.O.O.F. lodges. Elected representative in 1920 and re-elected in 1922. A republican in politics.

Representative from Boone county, was born in Boone county, Iowa, December 23, 1869 on a farm. His parents were Levi N. and Harriett Criswell. Has lived in Boone county all his life. Received his education in the rural schools, the Boone High school and the business department of Highland Park college at Des Moines. Was married to Etta Brown of Boone, February 11, 1894, and to them have been born four children-Clara, Lulu, LeRoy and Grace. From 1894 to 1904 he farmed in summer and taught school in the winter. Since that time he has been actively engaged in farming and stock raising. Has held several minor offices. Was assessor of Jackson township five years, and Colfax township eight years. He is president of the Farmers' Co-operative Elevator Company of Luther. Was president of the school board of the Luther Consolidated Schools for six years and is now secretary of the same schools. Is a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church of Luther. A member of the A.O.U.W., and the I.O.O.F. lodges. Elected representative in 1920. A republican in politics.
