Representative from Pocahontas county, was born in Saxony, September 17, 1874. At sixteen years of age he came to the United States, locating in Champaign county, Illinois. He came to Pocahontas county in 1899, working as a farm laborer. In 1903 he married Elizabeth A. Rassler. They have eight children, Amy, Albert, Frank, Norine, Louis, Ernest, Anna and Lulu. Has been operating a farm since 1904. Has been chairman of republican county committee four years and assessor of his township eight years, director in Farmers' Co-operative Elevator twelve years. During the world war, was on the county liberty loan committee, making speeches and helping organization of various drives. Elected representative in 1922, re-elected in 1924. A republican.
