He came to Pocahontas county in 1899, working as a farm laborer. In 1903 he married Elizabeth A. Rassler. They have eight children, Amy, Albert, Frank, Norine, Louis, Ernest, Anna and Lulu. Has been operating a farm since 1904. Has been chairman of republican county committee four years and assessor of his township eight years, director in Farmers' Co-operative Elevator twelve years. During the world war, was on the county liberty loan committee, making speeches and helping organization of various drives. Elected representative in 1922, re-elected in 1924. A republican.
