Representative from Keokuk county, was born in County Down, Ireland, February 18, 1850. He came to the United States in 1870 and settled in Rock Island county, Illinois. He moved to Iowa in 1876 and has lived on the farm where he now resides since 1879. He was married in 1898 to Anna L. Johnston. He is a thirty-second degree Mason and a Shriner; also a member of the Eastern Star. Elected representative in 1920 and re-elected in 1922 and 1924. Member of the Presbyterian church. A republican in politics.
