Representative from Louisa county, was born on a farm in Louisa county near Letts, Iowa, September 25, 1883. Attended the rural school and graduated from the Letts high school in 1900, and afterward became a student at Iowa State College for two years and one-half, where he specialized along animal husbandry lines. He was married to Gertrude B. Hafner of Muscatine county, October 30, 1911. They have one daughter, Barbara Gail, born September 20, 1923. Since his marriage he has resided on a farm of his own where he is engaged in a general farming and feeding business. He has been director in the Louisa County Farm Bureau for two years and was county president for the year 1922. Is an active member of the Methodist church of Letts and has been superintendent of the Sunday School for the past sixteen years, which office he still holds. Elected representative from Louisa county in 1922 and re-elected in 1924. A republican in politics.
