Representative, Greene county, was born on a farm in Marshall county, Illinois, June 18, 1879. After finishing eighth grade in common school attended winter term at Greer college, Hoopeston, Illinois, taking up the commercial course, and finishing his education at Brown's Business college, Peoria, Illinois. Took a position with Swift & Co., St. Joseph, Missouri, with which firm he was associated thirteen years. Moved to Greene county, Iowa, February 25, 1911, taking up the occupation of farming and stock-raising in which he is now engaged. Has served as secretary and director of the school board and township trustee. Is married and has three children, Helen Z., Dorthy C, and Howard J.
