Representative from Hancock county, was born on a farm in Grundy county, Iowa, March 28, 1873, where he resided with his parents and attended country schools until seventeen years of age. Attended Waterloo Collegiate Institute, Waterloo, Iowa, graduating in 1891. Shortly after graduating he entered the Citizens State Bank of Goldfield, Iowa, as bookkeeper, remaining there until October 1, 1893, and from 1893 until he organized the State Savings Bank of Kanawha, Iowa, held bank positions at Waterloo, Klemme, and Kanawha. He removed to Garner, Iowa, in July, 1905, accepting the cashiership of the First National bank of Garner, where he has since resided and is now the active president of the bank. He is a director of the First National Bank of Kanawha and the State Savings Bank, Goodell, and president of the State Savings Bank of Ventura, Iowa. Married Ada Adel Huyck on September 12, 1906, and has one son, Morris Frank, age 17, and one daughter, Jenevieve, age 13. He is a Mason, Shriner, Odd Fellow and Woodman. Elected representative in 1924. A republican in politics.
