Representative from Boone county, born in Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania, April 25, 1872. Moved with his parents to Boone county, Iowa, in the fall of the same year. Received his education in the rural schools, high school of Woodward, and Highland Park college. Taught school in winter and farmed in summer for several years. President of Boone County Farm Bureau two years, served as first assistant secretary of the senate in the thirty-sixth general assembly, member of the Boone county board of education for five years, member of the Baptist church and the I.O.O.F. Occupation, farming. Elected representative in 1924. Republican in politics.
