Representative from Madison county, was born in Marion county, Ohio, September 5, 1863. Came to Madison county in 1866 where he has resided since, excepting ten years during which time he has served as secretary of the Hawkeye Telephone company. He attended the public schools and taught in the schools for several years. He has served in all of the different township offices and as clerk of the district court for eight years. Is now engaged in farming. Is a director of the Citizens National Bank of Winterset. Married Lulu E. Piatt of Madison county on March 11, 1891. To this union a son and a daughter have been born. A member of the Knights of Pythias, a republican in politics.
