Representative from Cerro Gordo county, was born in Johnson county, Iowa, November 25, 1871, where he lived on the farm until the year 1910. He then moved to Cerro Gordo county and purchased the farm near Mason City, upon which he has since lived. He received a common school education; attended the Shueyville high school, and took some university work at Iowa City. Has at different times held township offices, such as clerk and trustee; was a member of the Cerro Gordo county board of education, and president of the Cerro Gordo county farm bureau for a number of years. On March G, 1902, was married to Miss Bessie Warner, of Osage. Has one son, Wade, fourteen years old. Is a member of the Mason City Rotary club, under the classification of farmer, and of the Portland community church. Elected in 1928.
