Representative from Lucas county, was born on a farm in Lucas county, Iowa, October 14, 1877. On October 15, 1899, was married to Marguerite Noland, formerly of Hardin county, Iowa. Have one daughter, Frances Louise. Is a member of U.B. Church, Chariton, Iowa. In the fall of 1910, purchased a farm and moved on it in the spring of 1911. Living there one year. In 1912 was chosen steward of county home, serving in that capacity four years. Then moved back to his own farm, on which he still resides. Served two terms as township assessor; three years on county board. Elected state representative 1928 re-elected in 1930. Republican in politics.

Representative from Lucas county, was born October 14, 1877, of Scotch-Irish parents in Lucas county, Iowa. Received his education in the county schools. Grew to young manhood on a farm, and has always followed agricultural pursuits. He was married October 15, 1899, to Miss Marguerite Noland, formerly of Hardin county, Iowa. They are both members of the United Brethren church at Chariton, Iowa. In the fall of 1910 he purchased a farm of his own moving to this place in the spring of 1911. He was steward of the county farm four years, beginning in 1912. After moving back to the farm he was elected township assessor two terms. Was elected to the county board of supervisors, serving in that office three years, and was elected state representative in the fall of 1928.
