Was township trustee of Maple River township six years, superintendent of road and road dragging eight years. Employed with Chicago and North Western railroad the last seven years. Elected in 1928 and 1930. A democrat.

Was elected state representative from the fifty-fifth district of Iowa on the democratic ticket from Carroll county to serve in the forty-third general assembly.
