Representative from Wright county, was born in Bremer county in 1860. Spent the years 1862 and 1863 with his parents in Fort Randall and Fort Sully, South Dakota, where his father was stationed as a member of the 7th Iowa Cavalry. Lived in Iowa Falls from 1864 to 1875, when he, with the family, moved to the farm in Wright county which has since been his home. Attended school in the country and at Iowa Falls. Taught school during the winters from 1878 to 1891. Has helped to form and carry on many of the farm organizations of the county. Has been a director and member of the executive board of the Farmers' Insurance Company of Wright county since its organization in 1890. Has always been interested in schools and has served as secretary or treasurer of the local school board since 1896. In 1892 was married to Anna H. Birdsall, who passed away in 1927. Is a member of I. O. O. F. A republican.
