Attended Waterloo Business College, State University of Iowa, State University of Kentucky, and graduated LL.B. in 1915. Since graduation in law partnership at Lake City with Honorable John W. Jacobs, a former member of the legislature. Married in 1915 to Miss Blanche Hinton, Lake City, Iowa. Have one child, Marion R., Jr., born; in 1923. Enlisted in regular army, World war; later commissioned as second lieutenant; holds rank of captain of infantry. Member of Masonic orders, including Shrine; Alpha Delta Sigma and Delta Chi, national college fraternities. Member of American Legion and was post commander for some time. Member of school board; independent school district, Lake City, for several years. Baptist in religion. County attorney of Calhoun county two terms, city attorney, Lake City, several years. Elected representative in 1924. Member of forty-first, forty-second extra, forty-third and forty-fourth general assemblies. A republican in politics.
