Representative from Cerro Gordo county, was born in Akron, Ohio. Moved to Iowa when three years of age and has been a resident of Cerro Gordo county most of the time since. Raised on a farm, worked for neighboring farmers until eighteen years of age. Taught rural school three years. Attended Iowa State College at Ames. Graduated from Iowa State Teachers College and taught two years as principal of the Marble Rock schools. Attended medical department of the Illinois State University in Chicago. Graduated in 1899. Located in Rockford, Iowa. In 1904 moved to Mason City and has lived there since that time. One of the founders of Park Hospital in 1909. Still a member of the staff. Member of the American Medical Association. Treasurer of the Austin Flint-Cedar Valley Medical Society. Assistant councillor of the Fourth district of Iowa. Served as County Coroner twenty consecutive years. Knight Templar, Shriner, member of the Kiwanis Club in Mason City. Member of the Congregational Church. Married Sue Lyon in 1901. Has two children: Mrs. M. F. Miller, of Mason City, and son Draper, who is a student in Rush Medical College, Chicago. Republican in politics.
