Representative from Grundy county, was born near Gifford, Hardin county, Iowa, February 15, 1869. Educated in the district schools, New Providence Academy, and the Iowa State College. Taught in the public schools of Hardin and Grundy counties for several years. Was married in 1895 to Miss Cora M. Walton, of New Providence, Iowa. Moved near Beaman, Grundy county, Iowa, in 1897, where he has since been continuously engaged in farming. Has five children: Marion C. Maud E., Katie H., William M., and Silas R. Has held several county and township offices, and was for two years president of the Grundy County Farm Bureau organization. Elected to the legislature in 1924 and 1930. Is a democrat in politics.
