Representative from Dickinson county, was born in Butler county, August 6, 1890. With his parents, F. H. and Anna Johnson, moved to Dickinson county in 1904. Was graduated from Terril and Spirit Lake high schools. Attended Iowa State University, graduating from the College of Law, and admitted to the bar in 1912. Since that time he has been actively interested in all of the affairs of his home community. Member of the farm bureau, served as county president. Is a member and Past Master of Richloyd Lodge of A.F. and A.M. at Terril. Is superintendent of the Methodist Sunday school and is a member of the official church board. His wife was formerly Miss Sara Thompson whom he married in 1914. A republican in politics. Elected to the legislature in 1922, serving continuously since then and elected speaker of the house of representatives of the forty-fourth general assembly.

Is a member of the Terril Methodist Episcopal church and the Richloyd lodge of A. F. and A. M. Republican in politics.
