Representative from the eighty-second district, comprising O'Brien county, was born in Minonk, Illinois, on October 13, 1894. In 1899 the family moved to Hartley, Iowa, O'Brien county. Graduated from the Hartley high school in 1913 and from the University of Minnesota school of agriculture in 1916. Attended the University of Minnesota until World war was declared. World war veteran. Engaged in farming in O'Brien county. Married Margaret Olson of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Has three daughters Billie, Betty Lou, and Gail Hesse. Charter member of the O'Brien county farm bureau. Charter member of the Arthur Krichoff American Legion post and served as its commander in 1930. Phi Kappa Epsilon and Masonic fraternities. Elected to the house of representatives in 1930. A republican in politics.
