Representative from Benton county, born February 19, 1894. Graduated from Vinton high school in 1913 and from Iowa State College in 1917 in agricultural engineering. Actively engaged in farming since 1919. Veteran of the World War with overseas service from May, 1918, to February 1, 1919, Battery E, 337th F.A. Township farm bureau president two years. County farm bureau secretary two years. Member of the United Presbyterian church holding the office of treasurer. Co-winner in farm bureau state debate in 1929. Held the office of township assessor two years. Elected to the legislature in 1930 on republican ticket.
