Representative from Union county, fourteenth district. Born in Montgomery county, Iowa, October 17, 1868. Boyhood spent in that county, afterwards living for a time in Adams county, then moving to Union county in 1886, where he now resides. He attended the public schools of the counties where he resided, graduating from the Afton Normal and Business College in 1892. Taught school a short time in Union county. Was married August 9, 1893, to Gelia M. Fluckey, and soon after purchased a farm in Union county which he owns at the present time. In 1922 he was elected clerk of the district court, which office he held two terms. Filled numerous township and county offices until elected to the position of representative in 1928. Re-elected in 1930. He is a member of the I.O.O.F. and Masonic lodges and the Presbyterian church. A republican.
