Representative from Muscatine county. Born in Fruitland township, Muscatine county, in 1871. Educated in public schools. Has engaged in farming, growing and shipping of watermelons, cantaloupe, and sweet potatoes his entire life. Was member of board of supervisors from January 1, 1919, to January 1, 1931. Member of the Presbyterian church. Was married December 12, 1911, to Allie B. Contryman, who died February 12, 1917. On October 16, 1921, was united in marriage to Mabel C. Zeidler. There being three children, Charles Theodore, Rodney Milton, and Florence Elizabeth, twins. Was elected to state legislature in 1930. A republican.
