Representative from Adams county, was born on a farm near Nodaway, Adams county, Iowa, February 17, 1872, and since 1875 has lived on the farm where he now resides. Received his education in the rural schools of his community and on January 15, 1896, was married to Nellie Cramer. Served as township assessor two years, president of the school board ten years and township trustee seven years. He is a charter member of the Adams County Farm Bureau, and has served as president four years. Is chairman of boys' 4-H club, and is also a member of local shipping association and one of the incorporators of the co-operative creamery at Corning, Iowa. Was chosen master farmer in January, 1927. Was a member of the forty-fourth general assembly and re-elected to the forty-fifth. A republican.
