Served a number of terms as city councilman and mayor; as a member of the board of education eleven years; three years as president; many years as a director and secretary of the Pottawattamie County Fair association, and is a director and vice president of the Avoca State bank. Married to Amelia Sievers April 30, 1890, who died December 31, 1929. Three children were born to this union; Clarence and Ada having preceded their mother in death, and Bertha, now Mrs. Robert True. Serving second term in the legislature. A democrat.
