Representative from Sac county, was born May 12, 1892, at Villisca, Iowa. Graduated from Odebolt high school in 1910. Graduated from University of Omaha in 1914. In real estate business in Odebolt from 1914 to 1917. Attended officers training school at Fort Snelling, where he was commissioned second lieutenant. Sent from Fort Snelling to Fort Doniphan, Oklahoma, with the 35th division. Served one year in France with 138 infantry of the 35th division. Promoted to first lieutenant after Argonne. After two years in the army, returned to Odebolt and to the real estate and farm loan business. Married Delia N. Nelson, Omaha, Nebraska, in 1919. Has two sons, ages 13 and 8 years. Mayor of Odebolt for six years. Member of Masonic lodge and the American Legion. Elected state representative in 1934. A democrat.
