Representative from Lyon county, was born in Champaign, Illinois, January 7, 1872. Came to Iowa in 1893. Educated in the public schools of Illinois. In December, 1897, married Anna Boll of Pomeroy, Iowa, and to this union six children were born, four girls, and two boys. Engaged in farming up until 1904. Now in the produce business. Served as township assessor; postmaster for two terms; secretary of independent school district for twenty years; county supervisor and town councilman. Member of the Evangelical church of North America. Member of the Masonic fraternity. Elected state representative in 1934. A democrat.
