Representative from Black Hawk county, one of a family of eleven children, was born March 23, 1876, on a farm in Taylor county, near Corning, Iowa. Received his education in the rural schools, the Iowa State Teachers college and the University of Arkansas. On December 25, 1902, he married Minnie L. Newton of Newell, Iowa, to which union was born Dorothy Jean (deceased), Mrs. Carol Walden, Lyons, Nebraska, John and Annabel at home. Mr. Cundy began teaching school in 1894, and has acted in the capacity of rural school teacher, city superintendent, county superintendent, consolidated school superintendent and instructor in Iowa State Teachers college. A member of the Methodist church. The only democrat ever to be elected to the legislature from Black Hawk county. Elected in 1934. A democrat.
