Representative from Clarke county, was born on a farm in Clarke county on July 17, 1884. Attended the rural schools of Clarke county and later taught in the rural schools for two years. Was township clerk six years, secretary of the school board twenty-one years and clerk of the district court of Clarke county for four years. A member of the Masonic order, I. O. O. F., the Order of Eastern Star and the M. P. church. Serving first term in the legislature. A democrat.
