Representative from Bremer county, was born November 18, 1878, in Cook county, Illinois, and came to Iowa with his parents at the age of ten years. He attended the rural and parochial schools and also attended Wartburg College at Waverly, Iowa. On May 1, 1904, he married Emma Wittenberg and they have four children: Adella, Clarence, Lily and Margaret. He was buttermaker at the Knittle Creamery, Bremer county, from 1901 to 1923. He then moved to a farm on which he now resides and is engaged in the raising of pure bred Chester White hogs. He has held various community and township offices. Mr. Wehling is a member of the St. Matthews American Lutheran church, Readlyn, and has served as church secretary for twenty-one consecutive years. Serving his first term in the legislature. A democrat.
