Republican representative from Polk county, was born at Warrenton, Virginia, January 17, 1897. He has a high school education, and holds the following college degrees: Bachelor of Laws, Master of Laws, and Master of Patent Laws, from The National University in Washington, D. C. He was a member of the American expeditionary forces to France during the World war. Immediately following the war, was employed by the United States treasury department as an auditor in Washington, and in 1921 was appointed to the general accounting office. In 1923 he was appointed director of naturalization for Iowa, Missouri, and Oklahoma, stationed in St. Louis, Missouri. He resigned from this position in 1925 to engage in the practice of law in the city of Des Moines, Iowa, which occupation he now pursues. He is married to Gladyce J. Fisher of Westchester, Iowa, and they have two children. Serving first term in the legislature. A republican.
