Representative from Van Buren county, was born in Farmington, Iowa, July 27, 1903, and was educated in the Farmington public schools. Married to Miss Edith Wogens, of Clinton, Iowa, June 14, 1933, and has a daughter, Carole Ruth. He was employed in the home office of an insurance company in Des Moines for two years, then entered the retail hardware business and was engaged in that business for a period of ten years. Served on town council; secretary of Farmington independent school district and as clerk of the town of Farmington. Was elected to the office of treasurer of Van Buren county in 1932 and re-elected in 1934. He is a member of the Congregational church and of the Masonic and Eastern Star orders. Serving first term in the legislature. A democrat.
