Representative of Cerro Gordo county, was born at Waucoma, Fayette county, Iowa, May 14, 1906, the son of James E. and Alice R. McEnaney. He received A.B. and L.L.B. degrees from the College of Saint Thomas, St. Paul, Minnesota, in 1928. Admitted to the Minnesota bar in 1928 and the Iowa bar in 1931. Began practice of law in Minneapolis in 1928. Became retail representative for the International Harvester Company in Mason City in 1931. Attorney with state legal department of Iowa HOLC in Des Moines in 1934. Began practice of law in Mason City on January 7, 1935. Married on November 7, 1936, to Viola G. Colloton. Serving his first term in the legislature. A democrat.
