Representative from Cherokee county, was born and raised on the farm he now operates, February 8, 1893, son of M. H. and Josephine G. Curtis. His educational training was received in the rural schools of the county, high school at Cherokee, Iowa, and college at the University of Oregon. Mr. Curtis has been active in community affairs, being chairman of Pilot township school board for many years, chairman of the Cherokee county corn-hog control association in its initial year of operation, and is now serving as president of the Pilot-Rock Plowing Match Association. He married Bessie Rebecca Hagan in 1914, to whom were born four children, William, Josephine, Dale, and Charlotte. He is a member of the Methodist church, and was elected to the legislature in 1934 and again in 1936. A democrat.
