Armstrong Emmet County Republican. Born on a farm at Ringsted, Iowa, May 16, 1906. Graduated from the Ringsted high school in 1925; attended the Junior College at Estherville, attended Cedar Falls summer school; graduated from the State University of Iowa in 1931. Experiences include farming, saleswork, teaching, and for the past four years has operated a cafe at Armstrong. He is a member of Knights of Pythias and Masonic lodges and the Lutheran church. Married in 1933 to Margaret Sckerl; father of two daughters. Serving first term in the legislature.
