Wellsburg Grundy County Democrat. Born on a farm in Grundy county, Iowa, November 21, 1890. Attended public schools in Grundy county and finished a machinist's course in 1911 at Highland Park College, Des Moines. Has been in the automobile business since 1912. He was the first Grundy county soldier to enter the World War and served two years, one of which was in France. Charter member of Ashing Post, American Legion; served as first post commander, county commander, and third district vice commander. Was mayor of Wellsburg 16 years. Serving his second term as representative.
