He received his early education in the rural schools of Worth county and in 1898 graduated from the public schools of Manly. He attended Nora Springs seminary for two years and Cornell College for two years and taught rural schools in Worth county for five years. Married Mary Hart of Plymouth, Iowa, May, 1905, and they have four children, Genevieve, Lowell, Whitney and Mae. A farmer, stock raiser and feeder. Member of the Odd Fellows order and United Evangelical church. Serving first term in the legislature. A republican.
