Council Bluffs Pottawattamie County Republican. Born in Council Bluffs, Iowa, April 7, 1883, a son of pioneer parents, John I. Lutz and Albertine Lutz, who came to Iowa while it was yet a territory. Educated in the public schools of Council Bluffs and in the Omaha Commercial College. For 18 years prior to 1918 connected with the First National Bank, Omaha, Nebr. From 1918 to the present, engaged in general insurance business. Married June 6, 1919, to Maude Stupfell of Pottawattamie county; father of one daughter, Eleanor, 19. Served on city council of Council Bluffs; a member of the board of trustees and treasurer of the First Presbyterian church. A Mason, Scottish Rite and Shriner. Serving first term in legislature.
