PHILIP J. KOHLHAAS Representative from Kossuth county, was born near Algona, Iowa, on August 4, 1887, and spent twenty-four years on a farm eight miles south of Algona, and twenty-five years in the automobile business in Algona. Served on the city council two years, a charter member of Kiwanis club and is president of the club at this time. He is also vice president of the Algona chamber of commerce. Married in 1915 to Adelaide Harig, of Algona, to which union six children were born, Vernon, Anita Rose, Betty, Robert, Dean and Phillip V. Member of Catholic church. Elected representative in 1936. A democrat.
