Bellevue Jackson County Democrat. Born in Bellevue, Iowa, August 23, 1885. Educated in parochial and public schools. Worked at the carpenter trade until 1914, when with his father, established the L. Bittner Lumber Company. Upon the death of his father, he became the sole owner of the Bittner Lumber Co. A director of the First National Bank, and is serving second term as mayor of Bellevue. A charter member of the Lions Club; served as secretary of Lions Club five years. Married in 1915; has no children. Serving first term in the legislature.
