Callender Webster County Democrat Born on a farm in Webster county, August 18, 1885. Attended public schools in Elkhorn township. Farms 550 acres of land. Owns and manages implement firm at Moorland. President and manager of the Moorland, Barnum and Woolstock telephone exchanges. Organizer and early president of the Big Four cooperative oil company at Callender. Was former member of the state appraisal board appointed by department of justice. Held several township offices. Active member and former vice-president of the Western Bohemian Fraternal Association, and former officer of the Loyal Order of Moose, and the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. Married in 1913 to Clara Hotz of Lone Tree, Iowa; father of three sons: Harry, Richard, and Floyd. Serving first term in the legislature.
