Hampton Franklin County Democrat Born on a farm near Hampton, Iowa, January 15, 1894. Educated in the public schools of Franklin county and also attended Highland Park College, Des Moines. Served overseas with the 337th Field Artillery in the World War. Since 1919 he has engaged in farming and purebred livestock breeding near Hampton. He operates a retail milk route in Hampton. A life member of the American Jersey Cattle Club and district chairman of the Iowa Jersey Cattle Club. Served on township Corn-Hog and Soil Conservation committees; township trustee for five years; district school board member for twelve years; and chairman of the Franklin County Cow Testing Association. Married in 1919 to Miss Clara Brandt; father of six children: Ralph, Robert, Rex, Marie, Mildred and Phyllis. A member of the Church of Christ and the American Legion. Serving second term in the legislature.
