A life member of the American Jersey Cattle Club and district chairman of the Iowa Jersey Cattle Club. Served on township Corn-Hog and Soil Conservation committees; township trustee for five years; district school board member for twelve years; and chairman of the Franklin County Cow Testing Association. Married in 1919 to Miss Clara Brandt; father of six children: Ralph, Robert, Rex, Marie, Mildred and Phyllis. A member of the Church of Christ and the American Legion. Serving second term in the legislature.
